Group sew in for a guild quilt

Yesterday a few of us FV’ers met to sew our guild a quilt to send down to the Pacific Northwest Meetup of the Modern Quilt Guilds. The organizers asked each guild to display a quilt as representation of their guild. We didn’t have one, so we made one!

Organized and planned by Lysa and Cathy, we got busy. Lysa picked up some Kona Solids in our guild’s logo colours, and everyone brought some additional pieces in coordinating prints and colours to add to it. Cathy and Lysa chose a wonky spiderweb quilt, made by stacking fabric squares then slashing and reassembling them. Brilliant plan and it went really fast!

And ta da! Finished top! Modelled by Lysa!

Now I have it to quilt, then it’ll be going to Cathy to bind and we’ll have a guild quilt! Hooray!

Big thank you’s to everyone who came and helped, donating batting, materials, and time,  it was a fun day of making something awesome for the group! Our FV’ers are a fabulous, generous, thoughtful bunch, who cheerily volunteer and help create such a happy and friendly place. And that’s what it’s all about!
