President’s Report – Laraine
The guild needs storage for some of our display and show items. If you have some garage space or a storage locker you could share with us, please talk to Kathryn.
We need party-planning volunteers for our anniversary party in September. Please talk to Laraine, Barb, Hedda, Joan, Christine or Jean for more info.
The Pacific Northwest Modern Quilt Guild meetup is being planned for Bend, Oregon in August. Hedda has posted a link to more information in the guild Facebook group.
We are planning a Coffee Klatch for May 5 and we’ll post more information once the arrangements are made. Sew-Ins will be happening in June, July & August. Thank you to Colleen Bell for making those bookings for us.
What’s coming up – Joan
Tonight’s program is member demos. In May Krista Hennebury is coming for a trunk show and Lysa Mair is teaching her paper-pieced cassette tape pattern. June will be the trunk sale. July is the picnic at Mission Heritage Park.
Community Quilts – Kathryn & Joanne
There is a new block to pick up tonight. Just add white. In June Abbotsford Victim’s Services will speak briefly about how they will use the quilts we donate.
Creativ Festival – Kathryn & Jean
Our quilts were a huge hit. We had lots or great feedback and over 2000 votes were made for the challenge and display quilts. A special thank-you to the volunteers who didn’t even have quilts hanging in the show!

Show & Tell
Show & Tell this month featured several different version of a village quilt. We had several #Quiltsforbroncos. Holly showed a quilt made from Liberty lawn. Joann and Kathryn showed two community quilts made with traditional pinwheel blocks in a fun modern arrangement.
Thank you to our members who took the time to put together several excellent interesting demos! Peg demonstrated machine quilting with a walking foot. Cathy showed us how to make a zippy pouch in 15 minutes flat. Lyn showed us how she makes rope bowls and mats. And Bev demonstrated a flange binding that adds a pop of colour and can be machine-stitched down invisibly.
We had our 50/50 draw and door prizes were handed out. Thanks to everyone who took the time to bring a treat, make coffee, sell the 50/50 tickets, show us something they made, teach a demo, and do all the little things that make the meetings so much fun.
